Research shows that back injuries in the workplace are the most common cause of job-related disability and account for almost 30% of injury requiring time away from work. Back pain is the second most common neurological ailment in the United States. Its estimated economic impact in lost productivity, health-care related expenses, and disability are staggering. The average cost of a low-back associated workers compensation claim is nearly $8,500. This is double the cost of the average injury claim. The total estimate for the United States ranges between $50 and $100 billion per year. A large portion of this cost is directly workers compensation related. (NORA, 1998).
What are you doing to reduce these statistics among your employees?
Companies may offer employees YogaMedics Workplace Wellness at their work site. The program will be designed to address the specific needs of the employees, and will emphasize injury prevention as well as stress reduction, pain management and relaxation techniques.
The YogaMedics Workplace Wellness program can reduce your employees risk for future back problems, injuries and pain. Unlike most employee exercise programs, YogaMedics delivers valuable techniques for stress management, relaxation and improving concentration along with the physical benefits. The YogaMedics Workplace Wellness program is offered onsite, and can be scheduled during lunch or immediately before or after work.
Flexible class time ranges from 45 minutes to 60 minutes. All sessions are taught by certified YogaMedics instructors. In many cases YogaMedics classes can be paid by health savings accounts, section 125 plans and other types of employer based health benefits.
YogaMedics is a customizable program, and cost is specific to each tailored program. Insurance coverage may be available for some or all of the program’s costs. A discussion of the terms and conditions governing reimbursement for YogaMedics is available upon request.
